How close to the house should I plant Cordyline australis? Print

Question

I'm in the process of landscaping and need to know if Cordyline australis will cope with shade under the eaves of my house.

Answer

Cordyline australis will cope with some shade but grows to its full potential if planted in full sun.  Care should be taken not to plant too close to your house as Cordyline australis can grow into very large trees and could cause structural damage.
