I believe this may contribute but I have seen bugs at the centre of new growth, not sure what they are - grubs or something should of taken a photo. Damage is done now just want to know what possibly could of caused it and what I can do to make sure it doesnt happen again....

I HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN MY TI'S DO THAT IT CAN BE FROM ANTS! ANTS LOVE TO PACK DIRT AND OTHER STUFF INTO THE CROWN OF THE PLANT CAUSING IT TO ROTE, IT CAN ALSO BE FROM TOO DENCE/WET SOIL ROOT ROTE = CROWN ROTE, SO IF ANTS JUST GET SOME ANT GUARD AND IF IT'S THE SOIL DIG UP AND FIX, MORE SAND/CINDER FOR DRAINAGE HOPE I HAVE HELPED! ----->OLLIE
