Growing Requirements

Will tolerate full sun but it will burn in hot weather. Better results are achieved when the plant is given some protection.

Characteristics

Colour is a combination of light to mid green and cream, often tinged with pink. The margins are finely marked with red. In the cooler months the new growth is cream withsome tinges of pink. Some leaves may have a streaked effect. The petioles are marked with cream and red. Intermediate leaf shape. The margins of the medium sized leaves are moderately undulated. The newer foliage is held fairly erect. Medium to tall in habit. Fast growing. Very hardy.

History

Has also been sold as 'Bicolour'. A very old variety of unknown origins. Common in many Queensland gardens. There has been a lot of variation in cultivars sold as 'Alba Rosea', probably due to seedlings from this plant being sold under the same name.
