The leaves are medium-sized, dark green, and edged with purple. In cooler months, new growth emerges flushed with soft purple, which darkens upon maturation.

Petioles exhibit purple markings. Leaf margins are slightly to broadly undulated, and portions of the margin, usually toward the tip, may roll under. Leaf tips characteristically turn downwards.
