Growing Requirements

Prefers a well-lit situation offering the plant protection from any hot sun.

Characteristics

Mid green to dark maroon edged with pink to red. In the cooler months the new growth is flushed with a creamy pink (often the veins are defined in green). As the leaves mature, the colour darkens to a mid to dark rose pink marked with dark red. The petioles are marked with cream and pink. The margins of the medium size leaves are slightly to moderately undulated. The outer edges often roll under (more obvious on the newer growth). There is often some creasing on the upper surface of the leaf blade.
