Growing Requirements

Prefers a well-lit situation offering the plant protection from the hot sun.

Characteristics

The top surface of the leaves is mid green, edged and often washed with red. The reverse is usually red. In the cooler months the upper surface of the new growth is flushed with shades of soft to mid pink and cream, while the reverse is a bright dark pink to red. The petioles are marked with bright pink. The margins of the large leaves are moderately undulated. The outer edges cup up on the newer growth, eventually turning down as the leaves age. The tips usually turn down. The new growth is held fairly erect. A tall to very tall grower.
