Characteristics

Mid green to dark olive green, edged with red. There may be some white colouring on the leaf blade. In the cooler months the new growth is flushed with shades of pink. The colour darkens as the leaves mature. The bone is red. The petioles are marked with red. The margins of the small leaves may be slightly undulated. The foliage often has a distinctive twist. The 'bone' is an appendage attached to the midrib at the base of the leaf. Whist this plant does produce flowers and seed, it is seldom
