Growing Requirements

Will tolerate full sun but best results are obtained when the plant is given some protection.

Characteristics

Dark bronze green with pink/red edges and markings. In the cooler months the new growth is flushed with a bright hot pink. The petioles are marked with pink/red. The margins of the pointed, rather narrow leaves are slightly to moderately undulated. The outer edges may turn up slightly. The newer growth may have a twisted appearance. The growth habit is Low-medium. If not pruned regularly, the slender trunks may become prostrate and new growth will emerge from sections of the stem. Very hardy.

History

Known as 'Baby Ti' in Australia. Aka ‘Red Edge’ or ‘Piccolo’. A very old cultivar which frequently sports a red, larger leafed variety known as ‘Red Sister’, and a type known as 'Little Sister' which has the colour and markings of 'Baby Doll', but is of a size midway between 'Baby Doll' & 'Red Sister'.
