Black/Dark Brown Spots 14 Years, 7 Months ago  
I have noticed on some of my lighter cordys (say john klass and white delight)
they developed a dark spot on the leaves - what is this caused from - I just topped the plant and got rid of it - does anyone jnow what causes this problem

I HAVE SOME OF THAT GOING ON ON A RED SISTER PLAINT OF MINE I WAS NOT SURE EITHER

It is common problem with this family of Cordylines. Ollie, Red Sister is part of the same family. This is generally caused from not enough protection. This family needs a good protected area in a shaded position. It's not a disease and you don't have to cut the top off. It generally occures through the cold of winter or the other extreme of the heat of summer. Offer it more protection and it will be fine, otherwise leave it and it will also be fine, new growth will grow back with no problems.
