The International Cordyline Society Inc.

From very humble beginnings in 1995 the International Cordyline Society Inc has transformed  from being a small group of South East Queensland based Cordyline enthusiasts originally named “The Cordyline Group”.  In 1996 a name change to the Australian Cordyline Society was adopted as the group became more structured in it’s format and expanded it’s horizons as meetings began in North Queensland.

The society has continued to go from strength to strength and as the memberships have become geographically wider the name has developed into the International Cordyline Society Inc. Today we boast memberships not only Australia wide but from many locations around the world as we share in our passion for the “Cordyline” also known as “Ti” or the “King of Foliage”.

Members are also as diverse as the membership locations with many growers, horticulturists, landscape designers, public garden curators and many home gardeners. The South East Queensland and North Queensland branches of our Society meet on the fourth Sunday of each month except for December and January.

Our meetings are always held in members gardens where we have the opportunity to leisurely wander through the garden and mingle over morning tea with fellow members before an informative meeting that covers information on topics such as new varieties, propagation, pests and diseases and more.  Our subject matter is not limited to Cordylines which are our main focus but to the many other tropical plants that work so well with Cordylines  in a tropical  garden.  At the conclusion of each meeting we conduct a raffle with plants provided by our members, growers and nursery's that are amongst our members

Other activities that we participate in are  our very popular Tropical Foliage Festival which provide plant lovers the opportunity to purchase new and rare varieties of Cordylines and other Tropical Foliage.  We have Bus trips, auctions, gardening displays as well as our annual Christmas party.  Please feel free to come along to one of our meetings listed on our calendar to see if our society is something you may enjoy being a part of.  Visitors are always welcomed.
