Growing Requirements

Prefers a well-lit situation offering the plant some protection from the hot sun.

Characteristics

Shiny deep maroon. The petioles are marked with pink/red. The margins of the medium to large leaves are usually broadly undulated. The outer edges may turn down. The petioles have a distinctive protruding nodule. It is this unusual feature which led to the plant's name. In dark shady conditions the plant may not develop the interesting nodules.
