Growing Requirements

Tolerates full sun but best results are obtained when the plant is given some protection.

Characteristics

Brownish maroon. In the cooler months the new growth is flushed with salmon pink. The colour darkens as the leaves mature. The petioles are marked with pink. The margins of the rather broad leaves are moderately undulated. The outer edges of the newer growth usually cup up slightly, flattening out as the leaves mature. At that stage the margins may even turn down. The very tips are usually turned down.
