Growing Requirements

Prefers a semi-shaded situation offering the plant protection from the hot sun and strong winds.

Characteristics

Light green, very heavily streaked with white striations. On good clones the leaves are also washed with some pink colouring. The petioles are sometimes finely edged with pink/red. The foliage often yellows with age. This variety frequently produces a mutation/sport which is a more robust faster gowing plant. Some of the leaves of these mutations may be heavily marked with white (sometimes half or even more of the entire leaf). This has led some collectors to believe the plant is a superior clone. Unfortunately these mutations usually revert to all green The margins of the medium to large leaves have little or no undulation. There may be some creasing on the surface of the leaf blade. The foliage is carried in an arching manner. The leaves are quite thin in texture.

This cultivar has also been sold in Australia as 'Shot Silk'.
