Growing Requirements

Requires a well-lit situation offering the plant protection from any direct sun. Performs well in shadehouse conditions (70% green shadecloth is ideal).

Characteristics

Dark green edged with purple. In the cooler months the new growth is flushed deep purple. The petioles are marked with purple. The margins of the small to medium size leaves are slightly undulated. The outer edges may cup up slightly (more obvious on the newer growth). The fruit is purple/red.

History

Has been marketed in Australia as 'Chin Chin' and 'Caruba Purple'.
